Welcome to Daniel Reta’s research group in the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of the Basque Country, located in the beautiful city of Donostia.

We work in the field of molecular magnetism and our interest ranges from purely organic systems to metal-containing compounds, spanning almost every magnetic element of the periodic table. We employ a concerted computational and experimental approach that combines correlated quantum chemistry calculations, SQUID magnetometry, EPR spectroscopy, and model spin Hamiltonians to understand the properties of magnetic molecules and propose novel design strategies towards improved performances.
